Are you a high school student? You can help yourself and help your school by a) making a 1 to 2 minute video or b) writing an essay from 250 to 500 words addressing one of the topic areas below.

The STOP THE BLEED® campaign was initiated by a federal interagency workgroup convened by the National Security Council Staff and The White House. The purpose of the campaign is to build national resilience by better preparing the public to save lives by raising awareness of basic actions to stop life threatening bleeding following everyday emergencies and man-made and natural disasters.
Resilience: Being able to confront a traumatic event and be able to move forward and act as needed

Driving is a big responsibility. According to the National Highway Safety Transportation Administration, in the United States alone there are more than 6-million car accidents each year – resulting in nearly 36,000 fatalities. Since teen-related accidents account for the most injuries and fatalities, how can Stop the Bleed training benefit you and those that may be at risk of traumatic hemorrhaging prior to the arrival of emergency responders.

A growing number of states across the country have enacted legislation requiring Stop the Bleed training for high school students. In some states, it is a graduation requirement. Tell us and support your opinion about requiring Stop the Bleed training for high school students.

Winning students will receive scholarship money towards post secondary education. The schools of the winning students will receive free STOP THE BLEED® Kits.

This year’s program consists of National Scholarships and State Scholarships. Every student submitting an application is eligible for the National Scholarships. Students who attend school in states with State Scholarships are automatically eligible for those scholarships, too (note: applicants are limited to one scholarship award).

Eligibility is limited to high school age students in the US and its territories.
